The 38th District Republican Club, PAC welcomed the County Council candidates for District 4 to a bipartisan Candidates Forum on Monday October 24th. The club hosted a presentation and discussion with incumbent Republican candidate for County Council, Doug Hudson, and Democrat candidate, Nathan Mitchell. The Candidate Forum was open to the public and saw many first time attendees of both parties. Audience members were most interested in over building and controlling growth in our area, and were able to ask the candidates what they would do to control growth. Doug Hudson spoke to his experience and what he has been doing so far, such as voting NO to the Evans land development project, voting to set aside land for conservation, including turning land over to the Nanticoke tribe and supporting a 20 year long term plan for water and sewage infrastructure planning in Sussex. Nathan Mitchell spoke that he might lack experience or knowledge on how to pursue limiting growth, but he pledged that he would find out who to ask and pursue this objective.
We thank both candidates for taking the time to speak at our meeting and we applaud them for their passion and dedication to keeping Sussex County a wonderful place to live.
