Hello Bethany Beach Resident,
My name is MP and I am your neighbor in the 38th district. The reason I am calling is ensure you are aware that the Bethany Beach and the South Bethany town councils will be voting soon on accepting money from the foreign-owned windfarm company, US Wind, in exchange for the town's promise to remain silent on any environmental or financial impact the wind turbines might have for 20 years! The towns are getting ready to vote to accept $100,00 per year, which is less than 1% of the town's annual income, in exchange for turning a blind eye to any damages caused for two decades. It's a bad deal and a bad contract.
If this concerns you, could you please send an email to the mayor and the town council members, and let them know how you feel about this vote? (See emails/town meeting info below).

The next Bethany Beach town council meeting will be Friday January 19th at 2:00 pm. but there is no agenda item to vote on the US Wind contract at this meeting.
(Meets the third Friday of every month, 2:00 pm)
The following Bethany Beach Town Council meeting is scheduled for Friday February 16th and the Council must publish on their agenda if they plan to vote on the US Wind contract 7 days prior to the meeting (2/9/24).
South Bethany

Ocean City Hearing Advisory on Offshore with Congressman Andy Harris
Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., will hold a hearing on January 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM EST, on the effects offshore wind industrialization is having on our environment, marine life, and economy. The purpose of the hearing is to hear public testimony from experts in industries affected by offshore wind followed by questions from three Members of Congress whose districts are directly impacted by its harmful effects. The hearing will be conducted as a normal congressional hearing, including expert testimony and questioning.
WHO: Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01), Congressman Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02), and Congressman Chris Smith (NJ-04).
WHAT: Hearing on the harmful effects of offshore wind industrialization on our environment, marine life, and economy.
