Julianne Foregoes Gubernatorial Run to Strengthen Party Unity

May 6th, 2024 – Wilmington, DE

Following meticulous deliberation and mindful consideration of the political

landscape, Julianne Murray today announced a pivotal decision regarding

the upcoming gubernatorial race. Contrary to prior expectations, Julianne

will not be declaring her candidacy for Governor.

In light of Mike Ramone's announcement that he is running for Governor,

Murray recognizes it is imperative to maintain focus on party unity and

organizational strength and to take the fight to the party in power. Murray

will continue to strengthen the Delaware GOP to fight the potential threat of

a Democrat super-majority in both houses of the Delaware General

Assembly.

"I cannot sit idly by as our party faces the prospect of division and

distraction," said Murray. "Now, more than ever, unity is our greatest asset in

championing conservative values and reclaiming Delaware from the grip of

RADICAL DEMOCRAT governance. We must break the stranglehold of one-

party rule."

With an unwavering commitment to party welfare and the electorate,

Murray reaffirms her dedication to leadership responsibilities and the

collective advancement of conservative principles. Expressing gratitude to

supporters who endorsed the prospect of her candidacy, Murray pledges to

steer the Delaware GOP towards victory in the forthcoming elections.

“Julianne’s decision not only demonstrates astute political acumen but also

exemplifies a resolute commitment to the greater good of the party and

Republicans across the state.” said Nick Miles, DEGOP Executive Director.

38th District Comment:

We are disappointed to hear that Julianne Murray will not be running for Governor, as we believe that Julianne Murray has the most name recognition and love of the good ordinary people (GOP) of Delaware who know that Julianne has the guts, correct intentions and capability to fight for what is right in Delaware, though we understand and support her decision to step down from this race. We in the 38th District Republican Club look forward to continuing to work together with all republican districts and Regions, as a State party, just as we came together and have done to win in the 37th District Special Election, and we intend to utilize our common goals and interests going forward to continue to work together to protect vulnerable Republican seats and win back more Republican seats from the single party in power. Madame Chair, you have our support!

In Mike Ramone announcement speech he said Julianne knew he was running a month ago, yet she still attempted to start the campaign. It’s hard to unify putting yourself first, the reasoning for ousting the last president was their ego and arrogance but it seems we replaced them with the same. What makes this party strong is the people, the voters with a common goal but what's making this party weaker is ego driven politics and I see history repeating itself in this current administration.
