Sussex County Council Meets to Decide Fate of Offshore Wind

The Sussex County Council met today to discuss whether the County should pursue legal action against the Delaware Legislature over what many view as state overreach into county authority through SB 159, the bill that shifted key permitting powers away from local government, and allow foreign owned US Wind to bring offshore wind cables onto Delaware shores.
While no final vote was taken, council members held a lengthy discussion on the implications of SB 159 and what a potential lawsuit might involve. The issue remains active, and the Council will reconvene next Tuesday to continue deliberations.
