38th Republican Club Local Food Drive

While Sussex County Democrats waste time pointing fingers and blaming Republicans for the government shutdown instead of looking honestly at their own role, Sussex County Republicans are doing the opposite: rolling up our sleeves and getting to work for the people of this county and the 38th District.

ree

The 38th District and Southern Delaware Republican Club will be collecting food and essential items to donate to several local charitable organizations in our community. As Senate Democrats continue to hold our government hostage and block the release of vital food assistance for Delaware families, we will not stand by. Shame on Senator Coons, Senator Blunt Rochester, and the Sussex County Democrats who would rather defend the indefensible than serve their neighbors.

So, instead of standing by and watching the democrats have another self-serving, self-centered protest in our backyard, the 38th District and Southern Delaware Republicans will step up and fill the gap. Further details will be shared soon about collection sites for food, clothing, and other needed items throughout our district. But in the meantime, bring your food items to the Monday meeting!

What Food to Bring

Start gathering your food donations and plan to bring your items to our Monday 38th Club meeting. Our Club Officers will collect your items at the door and make the deliveries to the needed donation sites in our area the next day.

The food banks especially need staples such as rice, pasta, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, canned vegetables and corn, canned tuna, chicken, or salmon, peanut butter, canned milk, instant oatmeal, soups, baked beans, boxed macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, cooking oil, flour, sugar, and basic spices like salt and pepper. Snack items such as granola bars, cereal, fruit cups, and pudding cups are also appreciated. Personal care products — including soap, toothpaste, and shampoo — are welcome too.

What NOT to Bring

Please do not donate items that require refrigeration, are homemade, or are past their expiration date.

38th District Republican Club Meeting

Also at our meeting on Monday, November 3, we will hear from the town of Ocean View. We will hear from Ocean View Town Councilman Stephen Cobbs to give us an overview of recent happenings in our area; we will also hear from the OV Police Chief and Town Manager, to learn about safety in our area.

See you then!
