Meeting Tonight: Urge Sussex County Council to Appeal SB 159

Tonight’s Mighty 38th meeting will focus on a critical next step for Sussex County: urging County Council to appeal the SB 159 ruling to the Delaware Supreme Court.

The Court of Chancery decision does not have to be the final word—but time is limited. If Sussex County does not act, the opportunity is lost. That’s why tonight we will organize our members to directly contact Council and make it clear: this decision must be appealed.

This is about more than one bill. It is about whether Sussex County governs itself or is governed by Dover.

A. SB 159 that overturned the Sussex County’s Council’s right to deny a permit to bring onshore offshore wind cables, was found to be constitutional.

B. Sussex County Council must appeal this decision with the DE Supreme Court.

C. In addition the democrat led legislature is advancing SB9 which would expedite permitting through wetlands.

D. No Kings Day Protests
