Power Outages, Best SOTU Ever, and Our March 2 Meeting plus More!

There's been a LOT happening in the 38th District and Southern Delaware. Many of us have experienced power outages, difficulties with snow removal, and numerous fallen trees. We'll be sharing our experiences this Monday during our meeting on March 2 at the South Coastal Library on Kent Avenue, Bethany Beach. Join us for a mix and mingle at 6 p.m., with the meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m.

U.S. Senate Candidate John Shulli Cancels Appearance

As previously announced, there has been a significant change: our keynote speaker, U.S. Senate Candidate John Shulli, will NOT be attending our meeting. This is despite his confirmation with us a month as well as five days ago, in-person. We are disappointed by this last-minute cancellation, especially since the reason given is a double booking discovered only five days before our meeting. We apologize to everyone, as we were looking forward to hearing from the second candidate for this important Delaware seat, following U.S Senate candidate Dr. Michael Katz, M.D., who spoke at our last meeting.

Featured Business Spotlight: Whole-Home Generators

Nonetheless, we still have plenty to discuss! This month's featured business will address a highly relevant and timely subject: generators! Marc Frey, representing Schagrin Gas Home Comfort company, whose president is a resident of the 38th District, can provide us with more information on buying a whole-house generator.

Power and electricity issues are not limited to winter storms. According to a recent article by Dr. David Legates, PhD and John Nichols, published by the Caesar Rodney Institute, Delaware is on the brink of an energy crisis, and we are currently witnessing early warning signs. We will also share some insider information at this meeting. To prepare you for the discussion points, here's the link to Dr. Legates' latest article on our energy grid. Additionally, if you haven't subscribed to the Caesar Rodney Institute's monthly newsletter, I highly recommend doing so.

Our secret surprise maybe guest just may be Dr. Legates himself, and he may even offer a few comments and take questions at the meeting!

Julianne Murray to Speak at Caesar Rodney Institute Event

Speaking of the Caesar Rodney Institute, if you’re interested in hearing from our favorite Republican advocate and former U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware, Julianne Murray will participate in a panel of constitutional experts on Wednesday, March 11, at the Hilton Newark. You can register for the event here.

Best SOTU Address Ever vs the Swamp Creatures

This past Tuesday, President Trump delivered one of the most heartfelt and emotionally uplifting State of the Union addresses in recent memory, honoring two Congressional Medal of Honor recipients, presenting the Legion of Merit to a U.S. Coast Guard officer who rescued 160 people during the Texas floods, recognizing an Angel Mom, celebrating the Olympic U.S. Men’s Hockey Team, and acknowledging Charlie Kirk for his advocacy and sacrifice.

In contrast, the Democrats held an alternative event where they seemed to celebrate their own entrenchment in the political establishment. Interestingly, they openly acknowledge and appear proud of being part of the so-called "swamp," with our own Governor Matt Meyer in attendance. Here is a brief glimpse of what occurred there. Be warned, it is disgusting.

On the Republican Front:

While the Democrats continue to wallow in their swampy corruption and stagnation, the Republican Party of patriots is moving forward — focused, energized, and playing to win. Here is just some of what President Trump spoke about that evening.

A new federal initiative against fraud is being launched, led by Vice President JD Vance, beginning in Minnesota and targeting hundreds of millions of dollars in potentially fraudulent Medicaid billing.

Illegal immigration has dropped by 99.9%, delivering what President Trump called the strongest and most secure border in American history, with zero illegal immigrants admitted in the past month. Fentanyl trafficking is reported to be down by roughly 60%, and the national murder rate has seen one of the largest recorded declines in modern history.

He called on Congress to pass the SAVE Act, requiring proof of U.S. citizenship to vote and protecting the integrity of American elections. He advanced the proposed “Delilah Law” to prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining commercial driver’s licenses in the name of public safety. And he pushed to ban members of Congress from profiting off insider trading — because lawmakers shouldn’t be cashing in on the system they regulate.

The administration is proposing up to $1,000 in annual retirement contribution matching, launching tax-free “Trump Accounts” for every child backed by a reported $6 billion private donation from Michael Dell, and delivering what it calls the largest tax cuts in American history. It is also advancing policies to lower prescription drug prices through “Most Favored Nation” pricing, aimed at bringing U.S. prices in line with other developed nations.

Trump also said that parents should never lose custody of their children because schools secretly socially transition them or promote transgender procedures without parental knowledge or consent, referencing the case of Sage as a powerful example. He framed it as a fundamental parental rights issue, making clear that no government or school system should come between parents and their children.

He added that large data centers must build their own power infrastructure so families are not forced to absorb higher electricity costs, and he called for permanently restricting Wall Street firms from buying up single-family homes so American families — not hedge funds — have a fair shot at homeownership.

If you don't want to be a Republican after this speech, there is definitely something not right with you!

Taking Action at Home: How We Support the America First Agenda

Looking forward, we've got plenty of patriotic love for our local community and things we can do right here to do our part to help with President Donald J. Trump's efforts to keep our country from falling to the Democrat communist party that loves death, destruction, and despair.

Firstly, consider signing up as a poll worker. In Delaware, Democrats have primarily filled these positions. We will never have enough qualified poll watchers unless we have individuals actively involved in the system as poll workers. It's a fun experience that offers a strong sense of patriotism and the satisfaction of fulfilling a civic duty. Please print and complete this form and submit it to the Department of Elections. Print form here:

We will also assist in organizing monthly online voter registration training sessions. In these sessions, you will learn how to effectively help citizens register and select their party affiliation. Please note that the deadline to change your party affiliation to vote in the closed primary is May 29. This online training lasts only 45 minutes, and upon completion, you will receive a certification in voter registration valid for two years. You can proudly display it on your wall! Email here if interested in the next training session to info@38thdrcp.com. The next date is Wednesday, March 11th, select 11am or 6pm.
