Join the Mighty 38th for a Kentucky Derby Celebration at Salted Vines

Join the Mighty 38th and the Southern Delaware Republican Club for a festive evening as we celebrate the Kentucky Derby in style, right here in our community at Salted Vines Vineyard and Winery. This event is open to the public, so bring your friends, neighbors, and family!


On Saturday, May 2nd from 5:00–8:00 PM, we’ll gather for an evening of great company, good food, and a little Derby excitement, all in support of our local Republican candidates.


The Venue: Salted Vines Vineyard and Winery

Salted Vines Vineyard and Winery, located at 32512 Road 374 in Frankford, Delaware, is truly a local gem. If you haven’t been before, you’re in for a treat. With its charming, rustic, old-world setting, Salted Vines grows its own grapes and produces outstanding wines right here in Southern Delaware.




Best Derby Hat and Seer Sucker Contest

This is more than just a fundraiser, it’s an opportunity to come together as a community, reconnect with friends old and new, and support the representatives and candidates who are stepping up to represent our values here at home.


All Southern Delaware candidates are welcome to attend, and we’re honored to have our sitting representatives serving as judges for the Derby Hat Contest and Best Seersucker Suit. Judging will be led by Senator Gerald Hocker, Representative Ron Gray, and Sussex County Council President Doug Hudson.


And yes, you may want to start shopping now… I hear Amazon has some great Derby hats and seersucker suits!



What's Included

Your Derby ticket includes one complimentary glass of wine, appetizers and desserts, and discounted beverages throughout the evening. You’ll also be entered into our Derby Draw for prizes and can participate in both the Derby Hat Contest and Best Seersucker Suit competition.


The evening begins at 5:00 PM with a relaxed wine reception in the Tank and Barrel Room.

At 6:15 PM, we’ll kick off the Hat Walk, where guests can show off their Derby style as they pass before our judges.


At 6:50 PM, it’s time for the main event—“Riders Up!”—as we watch the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby across multiple screens in the tasting room and patio.


We’ll wrap up the evening with prizes and awards for the Derby Draw and our contest winners.
