CRI: "We have way more kids now who are functionally illiterate.”

Schools now provide medical and mental health services, promote social programs through diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and use “restorative justice” approaches to manage behavior. These added roles have expanded school bureaucracy, increased the number of administrators and left teachers with less time to focus on teaching.
The good news is, the

38th Member Addresses the IRSD School Board over Budget and Referendums
As a concerned citizen who has attended the last five IRSD Board meetings, I feel it is important for the residents of the Indian River School District to hear what is going on relative to how the school board views money management.

The latest IRSD assessment report (2019–2025) shows that our schools are not just struggling to improve — they have lost ground compared to pre-2020 and 2022 levels.

FAFO - Senator Hocker and Republicans Block the Bond Bill over SB 159
This was a strategic response to the Delaware Democrats, who passed SB 159 in the House on the final day of the legislative session, including an amendment that required it to be sent back to the Senate. The Senate Democrats approved the bill with the amendment. Now, attention is focused on the Governor to veto the bill, allowing the Bond Bill to proceed. What will he do??? School Board to Vote on Tax Increase Tuesday, SB159 and the Bond Bill
Despite the two referendums to increase property taxes by 37% which failed twice in March and June of this year, the law allows the school district to raise taxes by 10% following a property reassessment, which occurred this year. The Indian River School Board will vote on whether to increase the local school district tax rate, which make up the largest part of property taxes, this Tuesday.

How To Call the House Democrats to Vote No SB 159
This time, we're going to attempt a new approach that we believe will be more straightforward and effective. We will start by CALLING the House Democrats on the Natural Resources and Energy Committee. The Legislative Hall of dictators needs to hear the sound of freedom ringing in their ears. How Did the Senate Committee Vote on SB 159
Delaware Democrats show no concern for life, liberty, or self-governance. Even Senator Russel Huxtable, the Democratic senator for the Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, and Milton areas, voted against the Sussex County Council and aligned with the Democratic agenda. The vote followed party lines.
